Garena introduced Garena introduced the Garena Professional League (GPL) in the month of May 2012, a six month-long professional gaming competition that features more than 100 live matches. The inaugural season of GPL features six teams of professional League of Legends players. which represent top players from their respective countries. Garena Premier League, 2013 includes two teams of Taiwan and Vietnam. The total of eight teams has been raised to nine. These teams include AHQ, Saigon Fantastic Five, Bangkok Titans, Kuala Lumpur Hunters, Manila Eagles, Saigon Jokers, Taipei Assassins and Singapore Sentinels. The stadium opened in November of 2014. Garena e-Sports Stadium, a space specifically for esports was opened located in Neihu District, Taipei. The venue opened in November 2014 to coincide with the beginning of the League of Legends Masters Series. It's the most prestigious LoL Taiwanese in Hong Kong, Taiwanese, as well as the Macau LoL League, which spun off from the GPL. In January of 2015, Garena launched Iron Solari League an all-women's League of Legends tournament in the Philippines. It is played in the second month of each month. It is designed to increase participation of groups with low representation and is open to individuals who self-identify as being female. In addition to tournaments that are competitive, Garena also organizes events to cater to users to meet and connect offline.
