Kate Hudson

Hudson was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Academy Award winning actress Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, an actor, comedian, and musician.Her parents separated when she was just 18 months old and she and her older brother Oliver Hudson, an actor Oliver Hudson, were raised in Snowmass, Colorado, and Pacific Palisades, California by the mother of her and her longtime partner actor Kurt Russell.Hudson's roots are Italian (from her maternal grandmother), Hungarian Jewish (from her maternal grandmother),and the rest of her family is a mix of English and some German.She was born Jewish and, like her mother she is also a practitioner of Buddhism.Hudson has stated that her biological father "doesn't know me from a hole in the wall" and she regards Russell her father.Hudson has described her mother as "the person I've learned the most from and whom I look up to she has lived her life in a manner that I can look up to". The actress has four half-siblings: Emily and Zachary Hudson, from her biological father's later marriage with actress Cindy Williams; Lalania Hudson as a result of his affair with another woman; and Wyatt Russell, from her mother's relationship with Kurt Russell.In 1997 she was a graduate of Crossroads, a college preparatory school located in Santa Monica. She was accepted into New York University but decided to pursue acting instead of a degree.
